Among the many responsibilities we have in life, taking care of your own health is one you need to pay attention to. If you don’t do that, you probably won’t be able to do much else either. Plus, without good health, you’ll find life much harder and much less fun – and if you can’t have fun, what else is there? So with that in mind, here are some great tips for taking care of your health that are practical and easy to fit into any daily routine.
Prioritize Sleep
We all need to sleep, and going to bed is certain to be in our daily plans. But could you do it better? Could you prioritize it more? Rather than trying to stay up longer to eke out every second of the day, it’s actually better to have a set bedtime and to stick with it. Work backwards from the time you have to wake up to ensure you get between seven and nine hours of good sleep.
If you find it hard to get to sleep, you could try taking CBD oil. Many people find that it relaxes them and allows them to sleep better. You could also take a warm bath, listen to music, or drink a hot, milky drink (or herbal tea), for example.
Although there will be times when you can’t get to bed at the time you usually would because you’re out or doing other things, if you can stick to that schedule as much as possible, you’ll find you feel a lot healthier the next day and in the future.
Have Some Decaf or Matcha
A lot of research has gone into caffeine and there is always some debate and confusion about whether it is good or bad for you, and if it is good, how much you can have before it becomes bad.
Something that researchers all seem to agree on is that having more than 400mg of caffeine each day will negatively affect your sleep and affect your central nervous system. It might even make you feel more stressed and anxious. 400mg is about four cups of coffee, so if you drink more than four cups, it’s a good idea to switch to decaf or match, which is lower in caffeine, once you reach that limit.
Eat More Fruit And Vegetables
You might not like the sound of it, but adding more fruit and vegetables to your diet is a great way to get healthier and to stay healthy too. Not only is it great for your physical health, but it can even improve your mental health at the same time. That’s because when you’re eating a good amount of vegetables and fruit, you’ll get plenty of antioxidants in your diet. Antioxidants keep you gut bacteria healthy, and since unhealthy gut bacteria is linked to depression, you can see how this would be helpful.
Not everyone is a fan of fruit and vegetables, but that doesn’t mean you can skip them, especially if you’re looking for ways to take care of your health. Try having them in smoothies or in a sauce if that works better for you.
