As some of you may already know, we’ve been homeschooling our kids since August. At that time, we had begun making plans to move out of California, but didn’t quite know what those plans looked like at the time. We tossed around the idea of buying an RV and traveling the US, which homeschool would be a great fit for. After weighing out our options, we decided to move to TN, but didn’t quite know what that timeline would look like.
Having never homeschooled before, I have welcomed any ideas of ways to keep my girls entertained during our down time. We have gone on many bike rides, have played Just Dance on the Nintendo Switch, and have recently discovered an awesome website called Virtual Babysitters Club which offers live virtual entertainment for kids.
About Virtual Babysitters Club
Virtual Babysitters Club is an online platform that connects parents with professional performers who keep kids actively engaged in small group virtual activities via live video chat. They have all sorts of entertainment options such as art activities, magic shows, music activities, dance, fun adventure games, and so much more.
VBC began out of desperation to keep kids entertained when COVID hit. Busy parents were struggling and juggling their own set of obstacles, and the co-founder of VBC came up with the solution of group video activities at affordable prices. During this time, most kids were already used to virtual learning and had their own laptops and computers at home, so VBC was such a great option for kids needing more. In fact, it was such a hit that it continued to grow even after kids went back to in-person learning.
How VBC Works
Booking classes with Virtual Babysitters Club is so simple. You can filter your class search by your child’s age, activity type, performers, and more. Once you select your class, you proceed with the easy booking process which consists of filling out a few information tabs. You then get an email confirming your class time along with the link to join the class virtually.
I am so impressed with the expansive list of performers that VBC offers. And each individual performer’s backgrounds are so impressive. I’m talking Broadway stars, TV stars, and other highly educated amazing artists. Your littles will be in great hands with these entertainers and teachers.
Why We Love Virtual Babysitters Club
Parents, we can’t do it all. It’s difficult enough managing multiple kids’ schedules, your own schedule, homeschooling, and everything else life throws our way. VBC is a great way to give myself a little break from keeping my kids entertained, while they get to have fun learning something new.
We just celebrated Indigenous People’s Day on October 11th with Ms. Whitney on VBC with a special morning art class. My oldest had so much fun learning about totem poles, how many tribes are in north American, and had a great time interacting with Ms. Whitney and the other student in the class.
The art projects she worked on during her class actually tied into what she was learning that week for homeschool, which could not have been planned any better. And, I loved that I was able to be nearby to listen to the class going on.
