Happy MONDAY, friends! It’s been a while since I’ve done a review, so let’s get back to the entire reason I started this space in the first place, starting with my MONDAY hair care review.
To begin, I like what MONDAY stands for in that they are creating inclusive beauty products at affordable prices ($6.99 at Target and Amazon) available to all. Their packaging is so chic and absolutely fits my aesthetic, but is a pretty bottle enough to make you go out and buy a bottle of shampoo and conditioner?
MONDAY Hair Care Review: Volume Shampoo + Conditioner
What first attracted me to MONDAY hair care was obviously the bottle. The baby pink is eye catching and totally my vibe. After reading about the brand, I began learning more about their ingredients and that they are sustainability-minded. And they are pretty new to the US, so that’s exciting. Let’s get to it…
Volume Shampoo
The MONDAY volume shampoo is actually my least favorite products of the two that I have tried. I wanted so badly to love it, but the smell was very “swampy” and “chemical” smelling to me. I also didn’t feel like it really got my hair that clean. This could be because the products contain no SLS, parabens or sulphates. I’m used to getting that really sulphate-loaded suds with my other shampoos, so this took some getting used to. I learned that if I washed twice I would achieve the cleanse that I was after.
Volume Conditioner
The MONDAY volume conditioner is my favorite of the two products. The smell is actually amazing and left my hair smelling so great. Because it’s designed to be a volumizing shampoo, I didn’t notice any residue after conditioning and I was able to achieve more of my natural wavy style after each use. The product is very creamy, but having long thick hair, I did find that I had to use quite a bit to get that softness I was after.
For those looking to enhance their hair care routine further, consider exploring additional beauty products. You can find a refy discount code to save on your purchase from Refy Beauty, which offers great options for hair and skincare.
Tip: Use a little as an after-shower leave in conditioner for extra softness.
My daughters have been loving these in place of their kids hair care products, so I will continue to purchase them for them. Overall, I think the volume collection was probably not the best choice for my hair type. I am actually really excited to try the SMOOTH collection and since they are at Target for $6.99 each, I’ll pick some. up with my next order.
