Raise your hands if you have kids who refuse to eat “whole wheat” bread because it has seeds on it! If my kids even see a seed, they refuse to eat it, which is why I’m so happy Oroweat came out with a Oroweat Organic White Made with Whole wheat bread – and it’s seedless! Plus, it has Disney’s Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse on the packaging which makes it even more fun.
My kids are big fans of creating their own “avocado” toasts. Most of their creations contain zero avocado, but they don’t know what else to call them, so avocado toast it is!
Here are two of their favorite breakfast toast recipes that you can easily recreate at home (or modify in case you have pickier eaters). My kiddos also love these for after school snacks.
Breakfast Toast Recipes for Kids
Cream Cheese + Everything Bagel Seasoning
We started with the Organic White Made with Whole Wheat Bread – perfect for picky eaters with its smooth texture and great nutrition.
We toast the bread on a lower setting (careful not to burn the bread), then smother it in cream cheese and sprinkle with everything but the bagel seasoning.
Organic Peanut Butter + Apples + Cinnamon Toast
If your kiddos are on a plant-based diet, this is a great recipe for you.
Oroweat Organic White Made with Whole Wheat Bread is plant-based, Non-GMO Project Verified, provides a good source of vitamins A, D, and E, and is USDA certified organic. And if you are interested in things that are sustainably made, Oroweat bakes this bread using renewable wind energy.
For this recipe, you can either caramelize the apples a little bit in a pan or just use freshly sliced apples. You lightly toast your bread, smother in your favorite organic peanut butter, almond butter, or any other butter your little one prefers, then top with apples and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
You could use bananas (fresh or heated up in a pan), or any other fruit you prefer for this recipe.
