How on earth are you expecting to get a peaceful night’s sleep if you bedroom is an absolute cluster*uck?
Being 100% honest with you, my bedroom is a freaking mess! But here’s the thing…
I LIVE in my house. I have a dog. I have kids. I have packages constantly coming in and need a place to store them. My bedroom ends up being the catchall and it seriously stresses me out.
Since I preach about changing something if you aren’t happy about it, it’s finally time to CHANGE my master bedroom into a place of simplicity and joy.
And sure, we can clean our bedroom one day, but go back to our old habits of storing laundry in it, hiding things when company comes over, and just straight up keeping it on the back burner.
This post is supposed to pull us out of that funk and inspire us to create a morning bedroom ritual to KEEP it a place of beauty and happiness.
A new morning ritual… for the bedroom!
Do you make your bed every morning? Be honest!
I have never been a morning bed maker, so I am hoping to change that today. I just sort of roll out of bed and do the “blanket toss” to get the bed to a semi-made look.
Make the Bed
So many people talk about how starting the morning by making your bed can literally start you on the right foot.
Are you frustrated that your bed never looks like the ones in magazines or on HGTV? What can you do to change that?
- Buy some super cute pillow that will elevate your bedding.
- Make sure your bedspread/comforter stays wrinkle-free by buying fabric that doesn’t wrinkle easily.
Open the Curtains and Blinds
Start the morning by getting some natural light into your room. Open the curtains and blinds and wake up with the sun.
Tidy up Your Nightstand
Tidy up your nightstand just like they would in a hotel room. If you have drawers, tuck the clutter away. Use cute containers to store your favorite lotion, chapstick and other bedtime ritual products.
