Local parents – If you’re looking for something fun to do with the kiddos after school, the Vintage Faire Mall’s Kid’s Club is a great option.
Vintage Faire Mall Kid’s Club Details:
The newly relaunched program has lots of great features for kids of all ages with an educational focus. August’s theme was “Sun Safety: Sunny Days / Healthy Ways” with a back to school twist and included activities like DIY sunglasses, story time with the Stanislaus County Library, dancing and singing, and more.
Every month, the focus for the program includes the following core objectives and ties into the Vintage Faire Mall sustainability program:
- Theme/Objective – ties to Healthy People, Healthy Planet or both
- Simple Everyday Solutions – ideas and actions children and families can do at home
- “Count Me In” Challenge – as part of every event, they ask for a show of hands from children that will be enacting some of the Simple Everyday Solutions. The “Count Me In” Challenge is reinforced in a take home activity sheet and craft/activity.
The program was originally launched in 2013 and gained hundreds of members. It is completely FREE to the community and takes place every third Thursday of the month from 3:30pm – 5:00pm in center court.
Each event finishes with fun raffle prizes from mall retailers or community event partners plus each member gets a take home goody bag. This month’s raffle was sponsored by CottonOn Kids. And members in August received a color changing cup and some back to school supplies to take home.
Augusts’ event had a great flow to it and allowed for plenty of time for the kids to complete each activity. It was nice to escape the heat and enjoy some one-on-one time with my girls.
When I asked my girls what their favorite part of the event was, they both responded with, “the DIY sunglasses!” My girls love any chance to get creative and the Kid’s Club had plenty of art supplies and templates to go around.
