(We were hosted by Oceanpoint Ranch, but all opinions are honest and my own.)
There’s something about the words “seaside” and “ranch-inspired hotel” that gets me almost nostalgic feeling. We spent the weekend at the adorable Oceanpoint Ranch in Cambria, kid-free, and it’s just what I needed to unwind and recharge. This quant hotel has that communal camping feel that I love so much, and it’s a must-visit if you’re traveling up or down highway 1.
My girls had Spring break all last week and we were all getting on each other’s nerves, so a little break apart was necessary. I have been such a homebody lately and love that I am able to take a vacation not too far from home. Oceanpoint Ranch is the perfect blend of that homey ranch feeling and all the ocean vibes that you dream of when you live in or visit California and it’s only about three hours away from my home.
Cambria, CA
Cambria is located on the Central Coast of California and is known for its tourist attractions like Hearst Castle and famous wine tasting experiences… and the beach, or course! Moonstone Beach is literally just steps away from Oceanpoint Ranch and is the perfect beach to hang out with family or friends, explore tide pools, or just sit and reflect.
Downtown Cambria
Cambria’s downtown area offers eclectic boutique shopping and eateries that make for the perfect day out. I found the cutest little home decor shop that had everything from original artwork and wall decor to candles, baby clothes, furniture and a million other amazing things. I picked up the cutest California wall poster for Charlotte’s room, which I’ll share with you another time, but the poster was literally only $5. Such a good buy!
Activities at Oceanpoint Ranch
Although it was a foggy, gloomy weekend and not ideal for the beach, I had so much fun just hanging out at Oceanpoint Ranch. They have so much to do at the hotel including group activities, fire pits, a game room, an amazing restaurant, and a heated pool.
The Canteen at Oceanpoint Ranch
The Canteen is the restaurant at Oceanpoint Ranch and was by far the BEST restaurant we experienced in Cambria. The restaurant reminds me of a dude ranch or summer camp mess hall. There’s a gorgeous corner fireplace and farmhouse style seating, and the most amazing food that you order at the counter before sitting down. Most people like to be waited on every 5 minutes at a restaurant, but honestly, I didn’t hate how The Canteen did things. I literally felt like every time we visited, we were greeted by familiar faces and we just felt so comfortable there. We chatted with other people eating in the restaurant because that’s just how the vibes are at this entire hotel. It all feels very communal in the best way possible.
The Rooms
We had a two-bed room with a shower/tub combo, a huge TV, and lots of room for storing luggage. The bed was so comfy and the hotel gives you many pillow options, for those of you who are picky with your pillows. Our room had an awesome vaulted ceiling that made it feel even more spacious and had the cutest bohemian/farmhouse decor.
I love the giant macrame wall decor over our bed and the beautiful horse print. And how cool are those gingham headboards?
If you ever decide to do a trip up or down highway one in California, you have to make a stop at Oceanpoint Ranch. Stay a night or two, or just stop and eat at The Canteen. The rooms are very reasonably priced for a seaside hotel in California and it’s a great place for couples, families, or large groups. We will definitely be planning a trip back and plan to invite family to go back with us so we can all hang and have fun together.
