I just returned from Arizona and I couldn’t help but notice how similar the Phoenix area was to Palm Springs. The architecture is so similar with those low ceilings, mid-century furniture and lines, and gorgeous desert views.
Today I wanted to share some design inspo from a home for sale in Palm Springs that was recently on the Modernism Week trail. It’s classic design is so 1950’s, but it’s livability is so 2018.
Built in classic post and beam construction, the 2,780-square-foot house has three bedrooms and three baths with den. It is sited on a large lot on a cul-de-sac with maintenance-free, drought-resistant landscape surrounded by a privacy wall. Also outside is a 45-foot salt water swimming pool, spa and outdoor shower off the master suite. Views from the interior’s glass walls and the pool terrace are 360 degrees of mountains ensuring an impressive backdrop. The 1950’s vibe is shown in the galley kitchen, though more open to the great room, the Swedish fireplace suspended from the ceiling and polished concrete floors.
