I don’t know about you, but I have noticed that if I don’t have the right cleaning tool for a specific messy job, it makes the cleaning process so much less enjoyable. Not that I really enjoy cleaning, anyways, but if I have a cleaning tool that is going to help make my life easier, I’m all for it.

Clever Cleaning Hacks
Here are some clever cleaning hacks from The Cleaning Authority. Most of these are new to me and I can’t wait to try them out.
Broom & Dust Pan – The secret to a clean floor is all about having the right broom and pan and using the correct sweep style techniques to make cleaning quick and effective. The idea is to work your way from one part of the room towards the it. Don’t sweep yourself into a corner (like I always do). Try getting a mini broom and dust pan for those small messes in the house. You also might like to get a handheld vacuum to get in the corners and under the cupboards.
Lint Roller – A lint roller can be the most versatile cleaning tool. Roll it over lampshades or any piece of furniture to clean dust fast. Lint rollers can also pull crumbs and dirt from the bottom of hard-to-reach spots like drawers and cushions. They’re also great tools to snag up things that vacuum cleaners can’t, like broken glass, glitter, and sprinkles.
Dryer Sheets – There are a few things you can do to put ordinary dryer sheets to work outside the laundry room. Try running one along your baseboards to remove dirt and repel dust. To keep garbage cans smelling nice, you can line dryer sheets on the bottom of the bin to help absorb odors and leaks. And if you have a gym bag or pair of shoes with a foul odor, throw in a sheet to help keep a fresh scent.
Sponges – Most of us use a sponge every day to clean dishes, so it’s important to also clean your sponge to avoid germ and bacteria build up. You can simply add your sponge to your dishwasher’s load to disinfect it. Just place it on the top rack, put your dishwasher on the heated dry setting, and take out the sponge when the dishwasher cycle is over.
Mop Slippers – Scrubbing the floors can be one of the worst tasks, unless you have a pair of mop slippers on your feet. Whether you’re sliding around on hardwood or tile, a few simple glides will remove dust, dirt, hair and grime. You can also use the slippers for polishing, as they’re easily washable.
Desk Vacuum – Keeping tight spaces clean can be such a chore. And let’s face it: if you snack at your desk, your work area is probably filled with crumbs. With a small desk vacuum, you can get rid of dirt, dust, and debris that accumulates under your computer and other desk items. You can also use your new tool to clean small crumbs and hair off of your dining room table, coffee table, and furniture, too.
Rubber Gloves – When a standard vacuum doesn’t’ get all of your pet’s hair, rubber gloves will get the job done. Just slide them on a rub down any areas that need extra cleaning. When rubber is pushed against fabric, it can generate elasticity to gather remaining pet hair. Rinse to gloves under running water when you’re done and the hair will unstick. You can also use rubber gloves for everyday cleaning and scrubbing.
Shelf Liner – Not a big fan of wiping down the inside of your fridge? Shelf liners will add instant style to your fridge and will also simplify the cleaning process in the long run. Just insert a liner into the bottom of your fridge and it will catch every spill, drip, and mess. To clean, just remove the insert, wash and warm water and soap, dry, and put right back.
