Theme parks are a staple of childhood. The smell of corn dogs, popcorn and cotton candy, mixed with the sound of roller coasters rolling through the rails and game vendors challenging you to try to win big brings a smile to my face.
California’s Great America theme park is a childhood favorite of mine, and I just love being able to take my girls there now that I’m a parent. The staff has always been so friendly, the park is always extremely clean, and the rides are so much fun. And though they’ve made quite a few changes to the park since I was a kid, they have still managed to keep that charm that kept me coming back year after year when I was little.
When I was younger, I was all about the thrill rides. You name it, I would ride it. Now that I’m older and visit theme parks with my kids, I don’t get much of chance to go on all of the thrillers, but I still manage to squeeze in some of the old favorites along with the newer rides (between kiddie rides, of course).
California’s Great America App
Navigating the park is so easy thanks to the California’s Great America app. The app shares line wait times, a real-time map of the park complete with your own location at any given time, food stops, ride locations and more. It even has a parking lot car finder!
The app was so helpful during our last visit because we could keep an eye on line wait times, taking advantage of the moments the lines were shorter. We could also easily find lunch and snack stops.
The Park: Then vs. Now
Over the years, California’s Great America has evolved and has only gotten better. You will still find the classic coasters like The Grizzly, Demon, and Flight Deck (previously called Top Gun), along with other favorites like Orbit, Drop Tower (which replaced The Edge from many years ago), Rip Roaring Rapids, Carousel Columbia and Celebration Swings.
For 2018, California’s Great America launched a fun new ride which is a thrill coaster on a single rail – RailBlazer. The experience begins when you first step in line where you make your way to the trailhead and hop aboard an ATV-inspired coaster car for an off-road type trip over rocky peaks and twisted valleys. This ride has a 90-degree descent of over 100 feet, but is uniquely smooth, unlike traditional coasters. Through over 1,800 feet of track you will go through 3 inversions including a zero gravity roll. It’s so much fun and is a must-ride.
When you visit, be sure to ride all of the classics, but don’t miss the newer thrill rides.
Fun for Kids
California’s Great America is such a great theme park for kids. They have an entire PEANUTS® themed area complete with Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy and more. Rides include fun names like PEANUTS® 500 (car ride), Flying Ace (an airplane ride), and Snoopy’s Space Race.
My girls were able to fearlessly ride most of the rides and had so much fun meeting some of their favorite PEANUTS® characters. These characters are so friendly and really take their time to play around with the kids to provide them long-lasting memories.

My brother recommended I might like this website.
He used to be entirely right. This submit actually made my
day. You cann’t believe simply how so much time I had spent for this information! Thanks!

I think what you published made a lot of sense.
But, consider this, what if you typed a catchier post title?
I ain’t saying your information isn’t solid., however what if you added a headline to
maybe grab people’s attention? I mean California's Great America Theme Park Tips •
The Naptime Reviewer is kinda vanilla. You could look at Yahoo’s front
page and watch how they write article titles to get people interested.
You might add a related video or a pic or two to get people
excited about everything’ve written. Just my opinion, it would bring
your posts a little bit more interesting.
