Still use color, but be wary of pattern. You can add pops of color with things like appliances and chairs, instead of multi-colored tiles, for example.

Ah, little ones and their sticky fingers. Baby wipes are a lifesaver when you have little ones! And being able to create a space in your home that is wipeable, is a must where possible. Think carefully about the things you have in your kitchen, such as tiles, units, and flooring. Carpet would be a big no, for example. Instead, opt for tiles or laminate wooden flooring. You don’t want anything that can stain or will take time to dry.

Lighting

Lighting in the kitchen can be really key, and does aid its function of being multi-purpose or not. Having a few different options, such as pendant lighting overhead, wall lighting, and countertop lighting are all good ideas. Then when kids get up in the night for water the bright lights don’t have to be switched on, but they can be for when you need to cool or entertain. So give yourself a few options and it will make it a better and more practical space for your family.
