Happy 2018, friends! I thought I would kick off the new year with something a little different. Since most of you probably don’t know me, I thought I would do a proper introduction and tell you a little about myself. Instead of writing paragraphs about myself, I’ll just leave some bullet points so you can quickly go through them.
- First of all, my name is Cristen! Nice to meet you.
- I have been professionally blogging since 2012
- I have two little girls, Charlotte (6) and Kendall (3), and have been married for 8 years to my handsome hubby, Aaron.
- When I first began blogging, I had no idea it would become a career
- When I first began blogging, I had no idea that I would develop a passion for what I do – I simply did it for fun!
- I collect odd things like hotel pens and hotel soaps, and am not a fan of purchasing souvenirs when I travel (unless it’s absolutely useful home decor or edible (honey, vanilla, candy, etc).
- Travel is one of my absolute favorite things to do, but I also get really home sick and need breaks from time-to-time.
- The day before I leave on a trip I get this urge to just stay home and not leave.
- In my blog photos, my house looks super clean. But what you don’t see is all of the junk I hid behind the camera!
- I often discourage people from starting a new blog because of how much time they take to maintain.
- I come up with so many random ideas all day and only try about 2% of them.
- I’m a bit of a night owl and love catching up on my shows at night (and then sleeping in).
- Shows I watch are: Total Divas, Real Housewives, Keeping up with the Kardashians, Expedition Unknown, One America News, WAGS…
- I’m absolutely horrible at being affectionate, unless it’s with my kids.
- I could never live in a cloudy city. I THRIVE in the sunshine.
- I live in California, but have always thought that Texas would be a nice place to live.
- I have played piano since the 3rd grade, but rarely take the time to learn new songs.
- Music is my everything and I enjoy everything from classic rock to hip hop.
- I’m super goofy and sarcastic and love to find the funny in everything.
- I often tell people “me too” when they’re telling a story about something that happened to them, because I want them to know I can relate (only if I truly can relate, of course). This has been misconstrued as being rude and “all about myself.”
- I’ve reached a point in my life where I worry less about what others think of me, and worry more about living my life!
- I’m more of a cat person than a dog person, but I do love my Boxer, Laila.
- My favorite types of foods to cook are Mexican and Italian, and I love trying to make things from scratch.
- I often get the question, “What nationality are you?” I finally did a DNA test and shared the results on my other blog: http://www.thenaptimereviewer.com/2017/01/gps-origins-dna-test-kit-review.html. Some day I would love to travel to all of my destinations of origin.
- I don’t believe in diets.
Well, that’s enough about me. Let’s hear about you! Introduce yourself in the comments section. I look forward to communicating with you more throughout the year.
