For the most part, travelers like to scrimp, save, and do anything necessary on their trip. However, not every person is the same. You may enjoy a holiday as much as the next person, but you also want a bit of luxury, too. And, there is nothing wrong with this way of thinking because vacations don’t come around very often. In fact, the trick is to embrace your lavish side so as to enjoy the experience as much as possible. Otherwise, there is no point in boarding a flight in the place.
So, if you’re a wannabe luxury traveller, you will need to know how to make it happen. As luck would have it, you can find everything you need underneath. Happy travels!
Forget The Word ‘Budget’
Everywhere on the internet, there is a post about traveling on a budget. There are even posts which use the words ‘luxury’ and ‘budget’ in the same sentence. Although they may be a good read, these don’t apply to you. The reason is simple: there is no such thing as cheap luxury. Yes, you can find cheap deals on nice hotel rooms and maybe even an upgrade on a flight. But, true lavishness requires you to spend money. As a result, a budget is out of the question. At least, a shoestring one is because it won’t get you very far. There is no need to waste money, but you have to be prepared to unsheathe the credit card.
Pick A Glamorous Destination
Picture the scene. You have a huge budget, you’ve picked a beautiful accommodation, and you board a first class flight. Then, you land and the destination is below par. Regardless of everything else, this instantly brings down the quality of your holiday. It doesn’t matter what you try because the cloud will always hang over your head. As such, it’s essential to choose a destination to smacks of glamour and elegance. That way, there is no reason to worry about your surroundings bringing down the standard. If anything, the location should make it better what with golden sandy beaches and crystal blue water.
4-5 Star Accommodation
Just like the destination, your accommodation can make or break your trip. Again, it doesn’t matter if everything else is up to par if your digs are substandard. After all, it is your base for the duration of your trip, so you can’t get away from it no matter how hard you try. The key is to opt for four or five-star lodgings because the luxury is involved in the price. Now, hotels are the main choice, but Meriton Apartments are also a great option. Or, there are villas and condos to choose from if you prefer more room and freedom. In fact, apartments and villas can be more luxurious than a hotel as long as they have the right amenities
Fly Everywhere
There is no doubt that trains and buses are cheaper than flights. Well, they are if you are not in the US. But, an airplane has a certain level of luxury that is hard to replace. For one thing, it is much more comfortable as it has air conditioning and leg space. Also, there is no one sitting next to you with a big bag of food while chickens run up and down the aisle. Oh yes, that scenario does exist on some buses! Plus, there is the entertainment system and the fact that you get a meal with your ticket. More importantly, a flight doesn’t take ages to reach its destination. As a result, there is no reason to spend a day traveling from one place to the next. If you can upgrade, the levels of luxury rise even further.
Eat Out
Cooking your meals is something that you do at home, and it isn’t glamorous. So, why would you do the same on holiday? The answer is to save money, yet you’re not looking to appease your bank balance on this trip. Therefore, there is no reason to hit the supermarket and cook from scratch. What you should do is hit the shower, get dressed, and go to a nearby restaurant for some delightful food. Not only do you get to eat a quality meal, but you also get to sample the experience. Sometimes, there is nothing nicer than sitting at a table looking out onto the ocean as the sun sets.
One thing is for sure – it’s much nicer than slaving over a hot stove!
