Take Care of Yourself
The health of your baby in the womb (and out of it) is going to depend heavily on the health of you, the mother. With this in mind, you should start getting into some healthy habits as soon as possible. You’re going to get all kinds of cravings during the pregnancy, so the sooner you start living healthily the easier it will be to stick to those good habits. One easy change is to start taking supplements. Folic acid pills, for example, will help along your baby’s brain development.
Don’t Panic!
If you’ve been trying to conceive for a few months and haven’t been able to, then you may be jumping to all kinds of worrying and false conclusions. Try to avoid obsessing over it and getting yourself into a big panic! The large majority of couples conceive within a year, and there isn’t much you can do to control your own body chemistry outside of your diet. Aside from that, it’s going to be pretty hard to get in the mood for conception when you’re thinking about it in terms of sperm and egg cells! If you’ve been trying regularly for around 18 months, and nothing happens, then you can consider talking to some IVF specialists. In the meantime, don’t panic!
Think About Him
You may be the one who’s going to have to do the bulk of the work, but remember, it’s not all about you! It takes two to tango, and to have a timely, healthy conception, he needs to be just as relaxed and happy as much as you. I understand that conception may be on your mind constantly, but try to avoid putting too much pressure on your partner. Performance anxiety is not helpful to baby-making.
Don’t Worry About the Timing
You’ve probably read elsewhere that the best time to have sex with the view to conceive is one to two days before you ovulate. Obviously, this is a very tricky task to get on time! However, you don’t need to obsess over timing and have sex every single day as a rule. Sperm cells, believe it or not, can survive for up to seven days in your body. With this in mind, you really don’t need to go over once every two to three days when you’re trying for a baby. If you’re really in a rush to conceive, there are many ovulation calculators on the web that can be helpful. However, if it can wait, then simply finding the time to make love is all you need to worry about.
