This is part of a sponsored collaboration with Baby Cubby. As always, all opinions are my own and are never influenced by compensation. We only work with brands that align with our lifestyles that we feel are a good fit for our audience.
Like most new moms, I got a bit overwhelmed sifting through all the baby gear on the market once we found out we were expecting. It was quite a daunting task trying to sift through product brands, ratings, pros and cons, etc. I remember lying in bed awake some nights towards the end of my pregnancy, wondering if I had everything I needed. Constantly mulling over questions like, do I need a jogger stroller and a regular stroller, or can i just make due with one? So, simply going to the ‘Baby section’ of any given store never eased those reeling questions for me. I spent hours reviewing certain products and their likability among consumers. I was exhausted and hadn’t even had my daughter yet.
All I can say is, I wish I knew then what I know now, but don’t we all?
Since having my daughter 4 years ago, I have been introduced to an online store called The Baby Cubby. This company is comprised of a team of parents that have been there – done that, and who do all the research so you don’t have to.
Diaper Bag
My husband and I are currently in the midst of an international adoption from Japan and we are super excited to begin preparing our home for another infant in the upcoming year. That means I will suddenly be in the market for a diaper bag, (something I hated shopping for my first go around). I had the hardest time because I didn’t want the typical diaper bag [insert any neutral baby pattern here]. I wanted a diaper bag that was less ‘diaper’ and more ‘sophistication’. In the end, I settled on a back pack which left me mildly dissatisfied.
This Oemi leather diaper bag ($295) is very sophisticated, and looks great with heels or a t-shirt. I love how versatile it is, because a good leather bag never goes out of style and pretty much goes with anything. It doesn’t scream ‘I’m a mom’ and would still allow me to feel on-trend.
Needless to say, I may have to snag this one for myself.
And because nothing is worse than a tipped bottle and that nice sour smell for weeks, I think you will be just as pleased as I am with the interior design. There are plenty of pockets lining the walls and deep dividers to give good structure so that you aren’t left hunting at the bottom, unless there is a rogue binki on the loose and to that I say “Good Luck and Happy Hunting.”
Now, if you are like me, you don’t have a shoulder to spare with even just one kid. Take grocery shopping for instance or even Christmas shopping. I roll into the driveway with a weeks worth of food in the back or my secret Santa stash, and most likely my daughter has already busted into the fruit snacks. Do I casually make 40 trips in comfort or do I take one for the team and do all the bags in one trip? I’m often a one tripper, which looks like 20lbs strangled on each arm and on the cusp of an amputation. But no big deal with that cross body strap – MOM WIN for The Baby Cubby’s Oemi diaper bag!
Classic Books
I mentioned Christmas shopping for those tiny humans in your life and Baby Cubby is an adventurous shop with all kinds of cultured prizes. I literally died when I saw Wuthering Heights shrunk down for the toddler mind. A classic bit of literature for the minds of babes – Talk about raising them up right!
Other to die for titles include:
Les Miserables
Little Women
A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Romeo & Juliet
Pride & Prejudice
Baby Rocker/Bouncer
Now, a good book at night ushers in rest, but we all know a comfy bed keeps them there (or at least we hope). Night times with a newborn tend to be the biggest struggle for most new parents. Or at least it was for us! Aside from frequent cluster feedings that left me struggling for my sanity, my daughter was a fussy sleeper and required constant motion. I was a nocturnal animal for a season and left to heavy concealers for my sleep deprived eyes. I tried many different motion sleepers to no avail. My sister had my nephew recently and purchased the Mamaroo by 4Moms ($269.99) and it left me jealous.
The technology and research that went into this product mimics the same movement motions you use to physically soothe your baby. This is finally the closest thing to cloning yourself as a mother, or at least gives you the chance to take an uninterrupted shower.
Things are changing and technology is evolving at an incredible rate, and I plan on soaking up all the benefits of living in modern times. The Baby Cubby plays a great part in scouting out all the products that make moms’ lives so much easier and I look forward to partnering with them as we welcome our tiny baby love from Japan here soon!

These are all great baby products! I never had the chance to try out the amazing new mamaroo, but hopefully next baby! 😉 I have had a Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bag for almost 3 years now and I LOVE it! It still looks almost new.
