Building a Cardboard Desk and Chair (on my own)
We recently received a desk and chair set ($99) from The Cardboard Guys to test out at home. At first, I was completely overwhelmed with the large pile of cardboard that I was supposed to transform into a desk and chair, but after reading through the instructions and separating the pieces, I became familiarized with the pieces which made for a better building experience.Building a cardboard desk with two kids hanging on me wasn’t an easy fete. It took me about an hour to get the desk and chair built and this is because my kids were pulling it apart as I was trying to put it back together.
Why Cardboard Furniture is a Great Option for Kids
My preschooler loves to get creative. She’s my “artsy” girl. By giving her her own customizable desk and chair, she had a never-ending art project that she was free to work on when she wanted. The desk also gives her a space to read books, play on her LeapPad, paint her own nails, etc. She even enjoys eating her snacks at her desk. (TIP: Keep drinks away from the cardboard furniture)The Cardboard Guys chair was tested to hold 500 pounds but is recommended that you don’t put more than 250 pounds on it. My husband and I have each sat on the cardboard chair, which is quite comfy.
