It’s been at least 10 years since I’ve visited the Mendocino coast in Northern California, and I’d forgotten how gorgeous it is! From the nice clean beaches, to the charming bed and breakfast establishments, Mendocino is a must visit for fall when the weather is perfect. We enjoyed a perfect fall weekend weather wise at the beautiful MacCallum House, a boutique hotel, in the town of Mendocino, California.
The accommodations at MacCallum House vary. We rented a small cottage adjacent to the main hotel. It was very cute, private and quaint, with a rustic cabin feel. A gourmet breakfast was included with our room. I had the cornmeal pancakes with hazelnut butter and huckleberry syrup. These were light as a feather and delicious!
You can also rent rooms in the main house, the “barn, or the MacCallum Suites (located a few blocks away). The suites here are beautifully decorated, and even include a gorgeous honeymoon suite! MacCallum House also offers 3 vacation home rentals nearby, at very reasonable rates. A gourmet breakfast was included with our room.
The grounds at MacCallum House also transforms into a beautiful wedding venue. I had the pleasure of attending my brother’s wedding here as he and his new bride celebrated their marriage with family and friends, with reception following in the MacCallum House (award winning!) dining room. Dinner was an elegant affair, with the most tender Filet Mignon I’ve ever eaten!
If you are looking for a weekend getaway on the Northern California coast, check out MacCallum House, where you can lounge on a beautiful beach, shop in quaint shops, and enjoy gourmet dining, all within a 1 mile walking radius!
