I’ve battled with Keratosis Pilaris since I can remember. It’s a common skin condition that causes rough patches and small, acne-like bumps usually on the arms, thighs, cheeks and buttocks. The bumps are usually white, sometimes red, and generally don’t itch or hurt but they sure can be embarrassing. This is a difficult skin condition to treat but is said to disappear by the age of 30. Well, I only have six more months until I’m 30. I guess I have something to look forward to.
Having battled with Keratosis Pilaris my entire life, I’ve gone through phases of being extremely self conscious about it and phases of not caring so much. I notice that sun tanning seems to help the bumps go away, but this usually results in super dry skin and typically isn’t that healthy for you. I notice the bumps get worse when I apply lotions or body oils so I really just can’t win.
My doctor told me to look for a lotion that contains Salicylic Acid because it’s said to clear the bumps up. I’ve only tried one product containing this acid and it didn’t even work. I’ve also tried acne treatments, various scrubs, toners, etc. and nothing has worked.
For the past week I’ve been using a combination of products from Emmaus on my arms and thighs. These are expensive products so I was taking a huge risk in hopes that they would work. After not even a full week of use, combined with a little bit of sun exposure each day, I’ve noticed a huge reduction in embarrassing bumps and redness. You have no idea how long I’ve waited for something like this.
The Emmaus Smiling Beads Body Wash ($60) is a clarifying scrub that contains Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Pumice Powder and Sunflower Seed Wax to promote the exfoliation of dry, dead and dull skin cells, which allows new, glowing skin to surface. It contains Aloe Vera juice to soothe, invigorate and revitalize the skin.
I use the body wash daily and apply it with a pouf or wash cloth.
Also treats: Psoriasis, Eczema, Body Acne, dark spots and discoloration.
The Emmaus Softness Bliss Body Lotion ($65) protects and nourishes the skin with a combination of Baobab, Sunflower, Coconut and Grape Seed Oil, while Glycolic Acid and Salicylic Acid sloughs away dry, dead skin cells to encourage the skin’s renewal process. You’ll notice smoother, softer and less dehydrated skin after the first use. Continue use should reveal clear, glowing skin.
Treats: Keratosis Pilaris, Psoriasis, Eczema, Body Acne, dark spots and discoloration.
The Softness Bliss body lotion feels and smells amazing. It goes on thinner than some of the other lotions I’m used to, but it keeps my skin hydrated without feeling greasy. That greasy feeling from other products is typically what clogged my pores so I love that this lotion doesn’t feel thick.
If you’ve been battling any of the skin conditions mentioned above, including Keratosis Pilaris, I highly recommend you check out the products from EmmausBeauty.com. The products have made a huge change in the appearance of my skin, along with many others. Check out more testimonials here.
I received these products from Emmaus to facilitate my review. My opinion is based on my experience with the products and is never influenced by compensation.
