Kid #1: Homemade baby food. Brand new clothes. Natural diapers…
Kid #2: Store-bought baby food. Hand-me-downs. Whatever diapers are the cheapest…
Sound familiar, parents?
Let’s face it. It’s a hassle to make homemade baby food. It’s messy. It can get expensive. It’s not always the best tasting. When it comes to the second kid, she’s lucky to even get a meal aside from breastmilk. Between cleaning the house, working, taking care of the first kid, the dog, the husband and everything else in between, I just don’t have the time or energy to play baby chef in the kitchen.
My solution: store-bought. Yup, I went there.
As parents, we’re forced to make huge decisions on the daily. Obviously if I have to make the choice between all natural or fake I’m going to choose the most natural (and affordable) choice I can when it comes to baby food. I love the idea of making my own baby food and putting it into cute little containers with perfectly marked labels, but I seriously don’t have the time. I’ve recently turned to Beech-Nut for help in the baby food department and it’s been a big hit with little Kendall. Admittedly, I went a little crazy in the Beech-Nut aisle at Babies R Us, but do you blame me? The foods look (and taste) just like homemade.
At Beech-Nut, we don’t want moms to feed their babies anything they wouldn’t eat themselves. This is not baby food. This is real food for babies™. The new organic line is inspired by homemade. Just real, whole fruits and vegetables (and sometimes ancient grains and beans) are inside our jars. And nothing else.
What I love most about the Beech-Nut organic line of baby food is that they are what they say they are. For example, “just sweet potatoes” or “just apples.” They use recipes and a unique cooking process that makes the baby foods look, taste and feel just like homemade and I really appreciate that. I also love that the food comes in clear jars so you can see exactly what you’re getting.
You can find recipes blends like organic apple, raspberry and avocado or organic apple, pumpkin and granola. Since we purchased the big variety pack of blended foods, we’re getting to try lots of fun new combos. Little Kendall did great with her first jar of “just butternut squash and sweet corn.”

Beech-Nut was awarded Product of the Year in the baby category for it’s 100% naturals and organic lines. Having a reputation like that is more than enough to get me to try their products. Their foods don’t contain excess water, artificial preservatives and are cooked in such a way that preserves the nutrients. They’re sealed with a USDA-certified organic seal and are GMO-free.
