Digital Door Viewer from Yale
Since I spend most of my days at home with my girls while my husband is gone at work, safety is my utmost concern.. I get lots of deliveries every day from FedEx, UPS, USPS and OnTrac which means there are a lot of people coming to my door. Before I hop on up and answer the door, I like to be able to know who is there for safety reasons.
The Yale Digital Door Viewer allows you to literally sit on the couch and check who is at the door. It works sort of like a baby monitor, sending a digital feed from the looking lens on the door to the handheld monitor. It works great during the day and even has a light on it for optimum nighttime usage. How cool is that?
Specs:
- View live image of who is at the door
- Simple installation
- Built in LED for assisted night viewing
- Images can be stored in internal memory so you can see who came, even when you were out

I would love this for extra security. I have answered the door I few times thinking it was a package and it wasn't. It's scary opening the door and not knowing the person standing there and you are at home alone with small kids. This would be great to have!

I live in a sketchy area of town unfortunately, so for me it would be the added security and peace of mind since my husband works nights my daughter and I are alone.

I would feel security. I watch my two little grandson's and I want to feel like I'm keeping them as safe as possible.

A digital door viewer would mean peace of mind and security. Unfortunately I cannot see who is at the door from my window and I can't even view out of the tiny peep hole. I have a lot of strange people coming to my door and I do not answer most often. This would definitely make me feel better.

For us this would bring a huge sense security! We do not have a window by the door, so you cannot tell who is there before you open. When the doorbell rings, so many times Carter will bolt for the door and open…which always makes me so nervous. I would love this so he could see who is there first too, and we could teach him to only open for friends or family!

It would mean total piece of mind to me when I am home and someone is at the door and I can see who it is before I open it! There have been a few home invasions in my general area recently and this would be perfect!

Peace of mind since we had a package stolen. And we get a lot of solicitors.

Have had a full tank of gas stolen out of my car while it was parked right outside my front door. Have had two 5-foot palm trees in brass planters stolen right off of my front porch. Have had digital cameras, stereo equipment, a big screen TV, and a carpet cleaner (that didn't even work) stolen out of my home. Had 110 and 220 volt air conditioning units stolen right out of my windows. (Wasn't home at the time). Have had both push and riding lawnmowers stolen right out of my yard. Have had my 16-foot trailer with a 4-foot ramp stolen out of my side yard. Had my 12-foot enclosed Cargo trailer full of DJ equipment, music and lighting, stolen right off of my driveway. It had been chained to a semi-buried steel rod, set in concrete; the hitch equipped with an "impenetratable" top of the line "Bulldog" lock. I even had my 100 pound watchdog stolen from behind my chain link fence …and I had to put up a reward (to pay off a grandma turning in her own grandson) to get her back! Once, while heading for my car, I opened the front door, not realizing there was a stranger lurking in the semi darkness on my front step. Almost bumping noses with this scary psycho, I let out a blood curdling scream and slammed the door on this weirdo with really bad teeth, in a goofy get up topped off with a scarecrow's straw hat. It wasn't until later that I found out the poor guy was just trying to sell subscriptions to the local newspaper. Suffice to say, to a traumatized, paranoid old lady living alone in a crime riddled city like this one….A little peace of mind would sure go a long way.

It would mean security and peace of mind to me. We are older adults who live in a rural neighborhood and have had an attempted home invasion in the past.

This would be a peace of mind for me especially during the winter months when it gets dark so early and have people knocking on the door but no peep hole to see who is out there.
