Your little dancer will feel like she is part of the show while she dances along with the Prima Princessa Nutracker. The basic steps that are shown and pronounced are saute, saute arabesque, glissade, passe and echappe saute. This ballet is performed by the Birmingham Royal Ballet, but is also narrated so children can understand the story of the Nutcracker. The Prima Princessa Nutcracker is a great fun alternative to everyday movies as it has various breaks in the story where your child can get up and move around learning the dance steps.
I thought a few of the dance class steps were a bit difficult for younger children, but they sure will have fun trying to learn them. The DVD runs about an hour long, which is plenty long for children under 5 years old as they lose interest with anything longer than that.
At about $7.00, this is the perfect stocking stuffer for children! I think this would be perfect to share with teachers to use in the classroom on days when the children cannot go outside and play.
