Hands-Free Baby Gear
Things have been pretty busy around this house since baby Kendall arrived on Halloween morning. While the husband is at work during the day, it’s up to me to keep the house functioning and somewhat in order all while maintaining the blog. Little Kendall loves to hang out with her sissy and me between naps but I need to be hands-free at times so I’ve been relying on a few handy baby products to help me out.
First, the Snuggle Pod from Chibebe has been so helpful. I’m all about baby bean bags right now because they help to prevent flat head syndrome (plagiocephaly), are so easy to move from room to room and help prevent GERD. Plus, they are great for infants, toddlers and even older children.
The Snuggle Pod ($99) is by far the most comfortable bean bag we’ve tested thanks to the extra padding in the top zip-on covers. Before Kendall arrived, Charlotte would use the toddler pod cover on the Snuggle Pod to create a plush movie chair. The infant and toddler covers can be swapped in just a few minutes making it so much easier on me. Oh, and both covers are completely machine washable. Score!
Chibebe doesn’t include the “beans” with the Snuggle Pod because shipping is more expensive. I recommend you head down to your local Walmart or Hobby Lobby to pick up a bag of beans. You are able to purchase the beans from Chibebe and put them in the pod yourself, too.

Another great baby product I’ve been using around the house and will be using while running errands is the Hip Baby Wrap ($120). Baby wearing is a great way to bond with your little one and allows you to get more done while keeping you hands-free.
Hip Baby Wraps are made of 100% cotton dyed with non-toxic dyes. The fabric is breathable and most importantly, soft and comfortable for both the baby and the wearer. The wraps comes in many different colors and are easy to use, believe it or not.
My husband actually helped me use the Hip Baby Wrap the first time. We followed the easy step-by-step illustrated instructions that came with the wrap and were able to get it all set-up in about a minute. The wrap originally starts out 185 inches long by 28 inches wide. Yes, this sounds super long, maybe too long, but it has to be so that it can wrap all around your body.
Believed by doctors to be an ideal setting for learning, baby wearing and nursing nurture baby to live in a quiet and alert state. When baby can see the world from where their parents do (rather than from far below in a stroller) their senses are stimulated and their attention is engaged all while feeling safe and secure. Not only does this extra stimulation benefit brain development but baby quickly develops a sense of security and trust when carried close in a baby wrap.

Gotta-Have Threads
Drool and spit-up are inevitable with little ones. I’m really liking this trend of bandana bibs that’s happening right now because they offer a much more stylish drool-catching solution. Nest designs has some adorable bamboo blend bibs that can adjust to fit your little one’s neck. The easy snaps on the back don’t rub on the baby’s neck and blend nicely with the fabric.
The theme for Kendall’s nursery was sort of a boho-chic theme. We incorporated feathers and lots of gold accents into the room filled with bright colors like teals, pinks and purples. Since decorating her nursery, I’ve been a little obsessed with feathers so I had to get my hands on this light grey feather bandana bib ($15) from Nest Designs. The color actually works for both boys and girls and isn’t super “babyish.” It’s more of an accent piece than a bib to the untrained eye.
Nest Designs has lots of other trendy baby gear like crib sheets, baby cloths and blankies. The feather print is from their Nest Noir series of prints but you’ve also got to check out their adorable Nest Nature prints, too.

To stay comfortable at night and have access to the “girls” for nursing, I look for pajamas like this Nursing Nightgown ($36) from The Savi Mom. The slits on the front allow for easy nursing and the material is super flowy and soft for a comfy night’s sleep.
With a mission to make breastfeeding as easy and comfortable as possible, The Savi Mom uses only the best natural fibers in their products like cotton, hemp, modal and bamboo. Their nightgowns come in sizes S to XL and come in a variety of prints and colors. I actually have a size small which is a little big for me but it’s so comfy that I can’t resist wearing it..

I pretty much keep my baby in pajamas or onesies at all times of the day. Okay, we are both in pajamas (or yoga clothes) most of the day. I’ve been favoring this super soft Vintage Rose Footie and hat set from Little Me because it wears like pajamas but looks like a daytime outfit.
The Vintage Rose Footie set ($16) is decorated with soft ruffles and bows and is covered in a whimsical floral print. The outfit is made of 100% cotton and features an asymmetrical snap closure from the feet to the neck for easy dressing and diaper changes.
Little Me offers unique clothing for boys and girls from newborn to toddler sizes made from soft materials like 100% cotton, which allows the child to feel safe and comfortable. You can find everything from jammies and blankets to formal attire and outerwear on their website and in popular stores.
