I live in a rich agricultural area in California and love to try locally produced food products. They have the goal of “buy fresh, buy local.”
Why eat sun dried tomatoes? Sun dried tomatoes are rich in lycopene, a powerful antioxidant that can prevent degenerative disease, and have more nutrition per ounce than fresh tomatoes. Studies have shown that lycopene may prevent prostate, lung and stomach cancer. Lycopene is best available to the body when tomatoes are cooked and eaten in a meal that contains a small amount of healthy fat like olive oil, so pasta with Bella Sun Luci sun dried tomatoes and marinara sauce would be perfect! Bella Sun Luci sun dried tomatoes have zero fat and no added salt or sugar.
So far, my favorite has been Sun Dried Tomato Pesto with Whole Pine Nuts. Just cook some pasta, add the pesto and some grilled chicken, and you have a quick and healthy dish. The packaged sun dried tomatoes with Greek herbs are so good on fresh salads with some added Greek olives and feta cheese.
