One of the major causes of cell phone damage is water/liquids (coffee, toilets, soda, etc.). Have you had to pack your wet cell phone in rice to try and save it? I have looked into several waterproof phone covers, but prices have been pretty hefty and they are so thick and bulky, making them hard to hold and hard to press buttons on the phone face.
Now that I’ve had the chance to sample the Catalyst Waterproof Case for iPhone 5/5s, I’ve changed my mind on the subject of waterproof cases. I really liked how easy it was to press buttons on the phone face, especially the home button. My only real issue with the Catalyst case was that people on the other end of my calls had a hard time hearing me and said there was a bad echo. After corresponding with a brand rep from Catalyst, I found out how to easily take care of this problem by unplugging the flap at the base of the case to depressurize the phone. No problems after this maneuver. The other problem I ran into was the outside clear face cover sticking to the screen. This was also cleared by cleaning the phone face and inside of the Catalyst case thoroughly. Another thing that helped this was opening the case once in awhile to let some air in.

Price wise, the Catalyst is quite a bit cheaper than other name brand cases, running about $65 (compared to about $100 for other brands). One accessory I would recommend investing in if you are planning to take pictures under water is a lanyard (to prevent accidentally dropping your phone in deep water). The belt clip is another optional accessory, probably more useful for men than women since women carry purses.

It’s been said that your cell phone is one of the dirtiest things you come in contact with, but washing daily is easy with the Catalyst Waterproof case. Help keep those nasty winter viruses at bay by keeping your phone germ free!
Catalyst has a great selection of waterproof cases and sleeves for your phone or tablet on their website, as well as many general accessories for biking and general outdoor use.
I received a free product in exchange for my honest review. Any opinion expressed in this article is based on my experience with the product/brand.
