If you’ve read some of my previous reviews, I’ve been commenting about the benefits of being able to pack a weeks’ worth of clothing in one carry-on suitcase plus a backpack. Now packing just got even easier! Eagle Creek has created this awesome piece of luggage called the “DoubleBack 22,” which is not only a carry-on sized piece of luggage, but also has a zip open compartment holding backpack straps so you can carry it on your back, or pull it using the integrated wheels and pop up handle. The backpack straps on the luggage can also be completely removed and attached to the matching smaller backpack. There is also a safety whistle built in to the back straps! The smaller backpack attaches securely to the outside of the main luggage for easy carrying or can be strapped to the pull handle on the main luggage. The DoubleBack 22 takes care of both my needs – having a carry-on piece of luggage AND a backpack!

The matching smaller backpack is hydration-compatible, so it’s great for hiking or long days in the sun. That same vent could also be used for your headphones. The back straps are padded for extra comfort and have a sternum strap to keep the straps in place. The DoubleBack is also compatible with Eagle Creeks’ Pack-It system, which keeps your belongings organized and maximizes packing space within your bag.

The DoubleBack by Eagle Creek is super lightweight, with the main bag weighing in at only 6 pounds 4 ounces and the backpack only 1 pound 3 ounces. The main bag is a perfect carry-on size at 14 x 22 x 9 inches and the backpack is 11 x 18.5 x 6 inches. The DoubleBack has multiple handles for lifting and Bi-Tech reinforcement on high contact areas for better wear. Another great feature is #10 lockable zippers to secure your belongings.
