Olaf Summer Party
Disney’s Frozen has been the hot girl’s birthday party theme lately. I can’t even count how many Frozen princess birthday parties we attended this year but one theme I haven’t seen is the Olaf summer party theme. My baby girl turned three last month and absolutely wanted an Olaf pool party. In fact, she obsessed on it for months. I did not want to go all out again this year so I decided to begin her birthday party at the local pizza parlor to avoid dealing with the mess and hassle. I then invited friends and family to head back to our house for drinks and the swimming portion of the party and it worked out perfectly.
For my daughter’s first birthday party we did a beach/pool theme and incorporated decor and food from some of the countries she had visited that year. We really went all out for this party. For her second birthday party we stuck with a similar theme and threw a Luau party. We ordered tons of supplies from Oriental Trading and just decked the house out with Luau decorations.
Since we decided to go with an Olaf summer party theme this year I had to do a little brainstorming. Obviously, Olaf is a huge part of Frozen but there’s not much to him. He’s a snowman that loves summer. Enough said. So, I decided to take some inspiration from Olaf’s “Summer” song.
Olaf sings about loving summer in his summer song. He lays on a red and white checkered picnic blanket and drinks a drink from a cup with a blue and white striped paper straw. So, I ordered some red and white plastic checkered tablecloths and paper straws from Oriental Trading. I also ordered a big cardboard cutout of Olaf. I ended up having some leftover party supplies from last year’s party so I incorporated some coconut cups, hula skirts and lays into the mix. Easy-peasy!
For the party favors, we went with the mini beach buckets from Oriental Trading and stuffed them with goodies from the Dollar Tree. My daughter had so much fun choosing the goodie bag supplies and stuffing them. She couldn’t wait to hand them out to the kids at her party. Because we ended up having so many little toys and nick-nacks in the goodie bags, we put all of the mini beach buckets and toys in small white gift bags.
Overall, I feel very satisfied with how the party turned out. The decor was just great and people really understood that there was an Olaf summer theme going on. The best part is that I was able to enjoy the party because I didn’t have to worry about cooking or serving food or cleaning up the mess.
Disclosure: I received free party supplies from Oriental Trading to incorporate into my party. Any opinion expressed in this article is based on my honest experience with the brand.
