We don’t normally cover Kickstarter campaigns on our blog but we’re making an exception for this adorable Squishy Blueberry children’s book called, When You Are Blue. This book is the second in a series featuring the lovable character Squishy Blueberry. This book is a vibrantly illustrated softcover children’s book written in rhyme all about the imagination and places you can go in your mind.
The deeper educational objectives of the Squishy Blueberry book series are emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and confidence. Greene saw how education is so focused on teaching kids ways to live a fulfilling life through learning about the outside world. Without undermining this important aspect of learning, she wanted to create a series of books that also encourages young people to look inward!
Amanda has just launched her Kicksarter Campaign that has wonderful perks for both parents and kids including a Squishy Plushy doll, book packages, and colorful prints for the bedroom wall!

Squishy’s Mission
Squishy Blueberry is more than a series of books with a message. It is a brand on a mission to encourage self-exploration and teach children about the environment and treating all creatures with kindness, including and especially one’s own self.
In my children’s book series (of which When You Are Blue is the second), Squishy Blueberry explores things I have been learning throughout my life such as the importance of understanding own selves – so that we can find and pursue our own dreams. They also explore the imagination, and the idea that anything possible – that we can indeed create entirely new things that never existed before (like new words – one of Squishy Blueberry’s favorite things to do).
My long-term vision for this children’s book adventure is to nurture the development self awareness, environmental awareness, and confidence in children of all backgrounds. The children are our future.
Campaign Goal
Squishy Blueberry and I want to create the second book, When You Are Blue. The goal is $11,000 to cover the digitization of my hand drawn images, book layout, and printing, and of course the rewards and gifts for YOU.
Rewards
$25 and above you get the 10″ x 8″ first edition first print run signed copy of When You Are Blue.
$50 and above you get the a small first book, Reflections of a Blueberry, and a poster with an image from the first book.
$75 and above – Squishy Blueberry Water Bottle (see image below)
$150 – two of each book, a second cup
$450 – a Dream Exploration Call with Yours Truly, a list of dream finding resources, plus 5 Signed Prints of original hand-drawn images by me.
$1000 – Squishy Art Connoisseur’s receive a signed Original, which I will draw just for you.
$1500 – An in-person visit by the Author and Squishy.
