I’m all about providing my daughter with tools to inspire creativity. She’s very similar to me in that she loves art and music. Having been trained to play classical piano since elementary school, music is and will always be a huge part of my life and I would love for it to be that way for my daughter, as well. I’ve always said that I will not force her to take lessons so I thought I would start small with a Schoenhut Toy Piano to see how she likes it.
Disclosure: I received a free piano in exchange for blog coverage. Any opinion expressed in this article is based on my experience with the product and is not influenced by compensation.
Schoenhut Piano Company – est. 1872 – is the leader in the world of toy pianos. Originally intended for children only, their pianos are award-winning, top quality, wooden, classic toys that have been passed down for generations and are also available at all major online retailers and specialty toy shops worldwide. Over the years, more and more professional artists have composed music especially for toy piano and they’ve created quite a following of unique and talented adult musicians who adore their Schoenhut toy piano. The Schoenhut piano is the first toy to be played at Carnegie Hall and a Schoenhut also made an appearance and performed on stage with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in January, 2014. My Thoughts
My (almost) three-year old is loving her pink baby grand piano from Schoenhut. She felt very intimidated sitting at mommy’s big piano and this is just right for her. The wood, keys and paint are very nice quality and I can see this little piano lasting for generations. Here’s a little video of my daughter singing her version of “Royals by Lorde” on her Schoenhut Toy Piano:
I really like that the piano is big enough for kids but small enough so that it doesn’t take up too much space in the house. I can easily tuck it away in the corner when cleaning up and my daughter can easily pull it back out to play it.
To Buy
As I previously mentioned, Schoenhut Toy Pianos can be found at online retailers and specialty toy shops worldwide. Here’s a brief list of some of the retailers.
