Playroom Inspiration
When we moved into our current house our daughter was about four months old so a playroom wasn’t specifically on our minds when planning the rooms out. A few months went by and we realized that the room we had designated as the formal dining area just wasn’t being used and we had a sudden need for more space for toys. So, project playroom began.
We started out by adding some 9-cube storage units from Target and put bins in each cube to hide the smaller toys. After the mess was hidden we went on to the decor. I wanted a bright, cheery feel in the playroom so I went with a world map/floral type of theme. My mom and I made the window seat cushion and curtains to add some color to the otherwise white seating area. Since the area below the seat was also a blank canvas, I decided to add some floral and bug wall decals from Wallslicks.com.
The level of difficulty for applying these decals is up there, but just because there are a lot of smaller pieces to put on the wall. I seem to always choose difficult wall decals but I just love the look when they are up. The dotted lines coming from the bees and butterflies are by far the most difficult to put on the wall, especially if you have a textured wall. I ended up only putting one bee on the wall in the playroom because I was getting frustrated with the amount of time it was taking me to put them on. The flowers and grass were much easier to put on the wall, though. The best part is that these decals can be removed and reused, although I probably wouldn’t want to spend the time putting them all on another wall again.
Overall I’m really satisfied with how our wall decal mural turned out and I’m happy with the quality of the product. You can purchase the entire set for $60 at Wallslicks.com or browse the many decals they offer.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
