I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Pull-Ups. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
If you’ve been following our potty training journey since February, you’ve seen our ups and downs and in betweens. Thanks to Pull Ups training pants and training resources, my daughter has been conquering the potty one day at a time.
Potty Training Update (2/25/14) – We’ve been tackling potty training for a few months now but for some reason we can’t get the nighttime down. Read more…
Potty Training Update (3/24/14) – Potty training has been going pretty well thanks to our princess Pull UpsĀ® training pants, however we’ve run into a little snag. The “Potty Inspection.” Read More…
Potty Training Update (4/18/14) – As you know from our last post, we were battling the potty inspection problem. My daughter would ask if there was a potty everywhere we went, say she had to go and not actually go. This was getting annoying and thankfully only lasted about two weeks. Finally, she only asks for the potty when she actually intends on using it. I feel this is due to her confidence in holding it throughout the day. We are still battling the nighttime wettings, however.
There have been a few times when my husband or I forgot to put a Pull Up on our daughter before bedtime and she ended up wetting the bed. While her diapers are more dry at night than they used to be, she just isn’t quite there yet. I trust that she will get there in her own time and I try not to bug her too much about it.
Throughout this process, there have been various tools that we used to help us out with the potty training process. The Pull Ups website and app has lots of parenting resources and fun, motivational things for kids and we couldn’t have done it without some of these tools. One of my favorites is the Big Kid Timer.
You can download the Big Kid Timer on your computer and a reminder will pop up to let you child know it’s time to try to go potty. My mom had actually suggested using something similar to this before I had even discovered it on the Pull Ups Big Kid Academy site. You can also arrange a character to call you when it’s time to go potty.
Another fun tool we used from the Big Kid Academy was the Reward Wheel. I personally loved this one because my daughter was able to click the button to determine the reward she received for going potty. I’ve actually even used this one for rewarding good behavior throughout the day, too.
Freebies
Pull-Ups recently announced an exiting new partnership with The First Years, a maker of potty training systems and seats. The First Years offers a range of different potty training systems and seats, even some decorated with Disney characters to help make potty training as fun as possible! With the purchase of a specialty potty system from The First Years you will also receive a free sample pack of Pull-Ups Training Pants to tackle the potty training journey!
Potty Seats
At home, my daughter uses a potty seat similar to this one from The First Years. It’s easy for her to put on the toilet and remove when she’s done and the handles help her keep stable while using the potty. We were finding that with the two potty systems that we tried (from other brands) that her little booty would fall through the hole. She was clearly uncomfortable using these which prompted us to switch to the padded potty seat. Plus, she wanted to use the real potty like mommy.
The Big Kid App
This fun app offer videos and songs and a Big Kid checklist to help your little one in his or her nighttime routine. My daughter loves watching the little videos while on the potty (with supervision of course). We wouldn’t want the phone to fall into the potty, right?
