Potty Training Update (3/24/14) – Potty training has been going pretty well thanks to our princess Pull UpsĀ® training pants, however we’ve run into a little snag. My daughter feels the need to immediately ask if there is a potty at each store, restaurant or other location we stop at. She then insists on going to use the potty. Once we get into the stall, pull her pants and Pull UpsĀ® down and sit her on the potty, she says, “I don’t need to go now.” Every. Single. Time! As you can imagine, this can get very frustrating. Especially when you’re at a store like Costco or Target, where the potty is never near by.
What was even more frustrating this past week is that she insisted on doing this on a cruise ship. She did the “potty inspection” in the middle of shows, dinner, swimming, etc. The only comfortable place she was able to use the potty at was our stateroom. If you’ve ever been on a cruise ship, you know that your stateroom is usually quite a hike away from everything else on the ship.
After referring to the Big Kid Academy’s Potty Training Techniques page, I learned that it might be wise to invest in a portable fold-up potty seats that fits over the adult size potties. The expert, Vicki Lansky, says these little portable seats can fit into a purse or diaper bag. I will definitely be looking in to this ASAP.

Pull Ups Big Kid App
This fun app offer videos and songs and a Big Kid checklist to help your little one in his or her nighttime routine. My daughter loves watching the little videos while on the potty (with supervision of course). We wouldn’t want the phone to fall into the potty, right?
