For years, my husband was completely opposed to Valentine’s Day because he thinks it’s a ‘Hallmark holiday.’ What does that even mean? Thankfully, almost ten years later he has changed his ways a bit and has started buying gifts and cards for Valentine’s Day for my daughter and me.
I’m pretty sure people consider holidays like Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day ‘Hallmark holidays’ because Hallmark is the best place to shop for the occasions. Well, that’s what I choose to believe, anyways.
Hallmark always has the best assortment of Valentine’s Day cards and gifts that truly do make people feel special. One thing I struggle with is not knowing who I should buy cards for. When it doubt, just buy them for everyone! Below is a picture of a couples card, a silly piggy card (for my daughter), a friend card (from the Sarah Jessica Parker collection) and a card for my parents.

My daughter is usually spoiled with cookies and candies from relatives on Valentine’s Day so I think these new Hallmark Itty Bitty’s will be a perfect gift from me to her. These adorable little ‘beany baby’ characters are petite and bright, just like her.
Another reason my husband hated Valentine’s Day in the past is because he hates wasting money on flowers that die. I totally get it but I do love to get flowers. They just make me feel special. Hallmark’s version of a flower bouquet might be a great option if you feel the same way about buying flowers.
