All companies need to advertise to reach their customers. A good advertisement can inspire or compel someone to make a purchase when they otherwise may not have planned to. Advertisements can also tell a potential customer why the product is valuable or how it can add value to that customer’s life.
For products that may be of interest to a small group of people, niche advertising can be particularly useful. While a tech enthusiast may not care about the type of watch that he or she wears, he or she may be interested in wearing a particular watch if it is connected to the Internet or can make or receive phone calls.
In some cases, a product is only useful or necessary for a small part of the population. A large piece of laboratory equipment may only be affordable to a major university of a major corporation. Therefore advertising the product to the masses is not going to be an effective way to sell the product.
When selling something, it is important to tell the customer why it is valuable. It is also important to find a customer who has the money to buy what you are selling. If these two criteria are considered before an advertisement goes out, it has a better chance of attracting as many customers as possible.
