Ozeri 8″ Textured Green Earth Pan
Our family has been through at least a dozen non stick frying pans over the years – everything from Teflon to Tefal! Granted a few have been lost due to our children using metal utensils in them, grrrr!! These pans have either lost their non-stick quality over time or have just chipped off, eventually becoming “camping” cookware.
Disclosure: I was sent an Ozeri pan to test out and share my opinion on. Any opinion expressed in this article is based on my experience with the product and is honest.
Ozeri has developed a great line of non-stick cookware called The Green Earth Pans. The Green Earth Pans have an environmentally safe ceramic coating that do not release toxins, even with use under high heat conditions. This is an induction type frying pan that provides really even cooking. The weight of this pan was awesome compared to my Calphalon pan of the same size, which tips toward the handle when there is nothing in the pan. It has a nice heavy base with a flat surface that rests evenly on my gas burner stove.
I rubbed just a scant amount of butter on The Green Earth Pan, then wiped it again with a paper towel. That was all I needed to fry 2 eggs (on medium heat). They just slid out of the pan easily with no sticking! Cleanup was a breeze with just a smidgen of liquid dish soap and water. Just a hint for long lasting non-stick surfaces – place paper coffee filters in between the pans if you have to stack them for storage.
