So, normally I would write about how much my daughter likes or dislikes an app for kids but this time I’m going to tell you that I’m actually the one obsessed with this new app called Geo Challenge – Flags, Maps and Geography. I’ve always had a fascination with maps and globes and this app totally caters to my fascination. Geo Challenge teaches geography in a fun way. Say what?
The first game I played was a quiz game where you select which country is highlighted on a map. I went straight to The Americas section to test my knowledge. We’ve been to quite a few countries throughout the Caribbean so I was excited to find that I actually knew the names of most of the countries in Central America. I even earned little stars for each country I named correctly.
My daughter is a little young (2-years old) for most of the games in this app except for the map flash cards. She is able to flip through the flash cards and listen to the narrator name the countries.
The graphics are awesome with my favorite being the “google maps” style globe. You can rotate the world with your fingers which is pretty cool.
A another huge plus is that the loading time between each game is quick so your little ones won’t lose interest.
I recommend this app for ages 5+.
Our Overall Rating for Geo Challenge is 5 Stars. I downloaded the app for $2.99 and in my opinion the price is right on. This is a quality educational kid’s app that is worth paying for.
