I’m new to the whole Kindle app thing but I’m learning that it’s a great way to keep my daughter occupied when we’re out and about. She has a couple of eBooks that she loves to flip through, mostly because she loves the pictures. I recently connected with KiteReaders and joined the Raise a Reader Ambassador Program. KiteReaders is home to award-winning kids eBooks and book apps for kids of all ages. As part of the Ambassador program, I was able to choose one free eBook to review. I chose to review More Cheese Please! by Tiffany Streletiz-Haber.
Disclosure: I received a free eBook in exchange for my honest review as part of the Raise a Reader Ambassador Program. My opinion is not influenced by compensation.
To be completely honest, I really didn’t care for the book. I can see the humor in the fact that the little girl in the story loves cheese but I didn’t like that she was a glutton and ate all of the cheese in her house. She then started throwing a fit until the whole town came together and gave her all of the cheese they had. Then, once she ate all of the cheese, she ran out of milk which started the whole fit-throwing cycle again.
Something to take away from this story is a lesson on being a glutton. I’m not one to give into bad behavior and fit-throwing is a no-no in our house so for this story, I’ve taught my daughter that the little girl in the book is a mean girl (sort of like Caillou on TV). I feel that a huge problem in our country is that people have learned to expect handouts. They learn this from an early age and it continues into their adult years.
Thankfully, there are many other eBooks to choose from on the KiteReaders website and I can’t wait to check out more. Head over to KiteReaders.com to sign up for their weekly newsletter to get eBook discounts, freebies and more.
Be sure to check out the fun KitePlay game section on the KiteReaders website. Kids can play all sorts of fun games, make eCards and even get printable coloring pages.
