Alphabet Aliens: Alphie, Bebe and Coco
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
My daughter is loving her new books from the awesome children’s book series, Alphabet Aliens. Each book focuses on a letter and is quite an adventure. We were sent the first three books starring Alphie the anteater, Bebe (who was born to bounce) and Coco (who can change colors like a chameleon). Each book focuses on it’s corresponding letter combining both phonics and excitement.
My favorite part of each book, well, besides the fun illustrations and wording, is that you can find a ‘Guide to Tricky Words’ in the back. Sort of like a dictionary. For example, in Bebe’s alphabet book, it explains that “it was hard to be banned from bouncing, but Bebe tried to keep busy.” Lots of “b” words in that sentence and throughout Bebe’s book. The word ‘banned’ can be found in the tricky words section where it explains that banned means ‘forbidden’ or ‘absolutely not allowed.’
Okay, I lied. I have another favorite about these books. I love that they are small (6″ x 6″). They’re small enough to toss in the diaper bag for on-the-go entertainment and perfect for long airplane rides. A fun idea for a game to play would be to have your child count how many words begin with the letter ‘A’ in Alphie’s book, find how many times the word ‘bounce’ is used in Bebe’s book or count the cookies in Coco’s book.
