Thinking back to my childhood, one of the classic candies that I can remember is Mike and Ike’s! It’s one of the candies you could eat all summer long without it melting like chocolate! My husband and I still buy them to this day! It seems that the flavors are more robust now than ever. Mike and Ike’s are made with real fruit juice, and you can definitely taste that in the flavor!
Disclosure: I received free candy in exchange for an honest review and coverage for Halloween time My opinion is honest and my own.
For Halloween 2013 the makers of Mike and Ike candy have come out with new packaging and flavor combinations called Mummy’s Mix (with lemon, orange, grape, lime and raspberry flavors) and Vampire Variety (with cherry, raspberry, grape, watermelon and fruit punch). The packaging for the Halloween mixes are super cute! These new Halloween themed boxes come in the big 5 ounce movie sized boxes and snack sized variety bags that come in 45 or 72 count bags. The Mummy’s Mix also comes in a 21 count snack sized bag that would be a perfect size for those preschool parties! The larger bags are perfect for all your neighborhood trick-or-treaters! I think it would be a great candy for the little ones since there are children who are allergic to chocolate.
Nutritionally speaking, Mike and Ike candies have no saturated or trans fat and are fairly low in sodium. After sampling these new ghoulish Halloween varieties, the taste and freshness is still great as always! I really loved the raspberry flavor!
Where to buy:
Right now you can get a great deal on the Halloween variety bag at Oriental Trading. The 45 piece bag is only $5.99! I’m ordering a few for the trick-or-treaters!! The variety pack can also be found on Amazon.
