If you can’t tell, I do a lot of traveling with my little one. When my husband travels with me, we have a system down. Charlotte goes in the umbrella stroller, we have the carseat in a rolling carseat bag which my husband usually carries over his shoulder, and my husband and I each have a large suitcase. We have a system for getting on the shuttles at the airports, for rolling around the airports and through security. We typically prefer to fly with Southwest because checked bags are free. We check the carseat and the large luggage as quickly as we can so it’s less to lug around. The stroller goes with us to the gate where the gate attendants take it from us to put with the luggage under the plane. It’s always waiting for us as we exit the plane which is awesome.
The Best Lightweight Luggage + My Packing Tips
Unfortunately, because of his job, my husband can’t always travel with me which means I usually need to pack lightly. But do I ever really pack lightly? Not really. My secret is Delsey. I have both the 29″ Delsey Helium Superlite Spinner and the 29″ Delsey Helium Breeze 4.0 luggage. It’s important to remember that when traveling alone or without the help of others to bring the least amount of objects (like luggage) as possible since you only have two hands. My newest Delsey Helium Breeze 4.0 suitcase will be my bag of choice for the Los Cabos media trip I have planned next week. Delsey offers the best lightweight luggage, period.

Delsey Helium Breeze 4.0
Crafted with durable, ballistic nylon, the new, elegant collection offers added organizational options including a convenient Easy AccessTM compartment on the side
Delsey, creator of feature-rich luggage, has just launched Helium Breeze 4.0, designed for business people and frequent travelers. Durable, functional and sophisticated, the collection is the first to feature an Easy AccessTM compartment that can be opened from the side of the case, so travelers can conveniently retrieve certain items en route without opening the main compartment of their suitcase.
Innovative and consumer driven, Delsey creates luggage with the traveler in mind. Combining the latest in material, technology and design, the Delsey Helium Breeze 4.0 reflects the needs of business and frequent travelers looking for a quality suitcase that offers exceptional organization and storage options.
Crafted from robust 1682 ballistic nylon the collection is created to withstand the inevitable wear and tear that comes from repeated use. Whether it is handled by airline companies or jammed into the trunks of cars, Delsey Helium Breeze 4.0 promises to protect the valuable goods it transports. Best of all, the ballistic nylon is lightweight, maximizing packing possibilities.
Recognizing the need for additional organizational options, Delsey Helium Breeze 4.0 is the first collection to offer an Easy AccessTM compartment that can be opened from the side of the case, as well as from the inside of the case. Available on the three upright models, this compartment allows travelers to conveniently retrieve toiletries, shoes, or a sweater during travel. It can also be used to separate previously worn or damp garments from clean clothing on return trips. Conveniently, the Easy AccessTM compartment neatly folds away when not in use. For business travelers, the carry-on bags also offer a built in padded computer sleeve on the front pocket of the case, meaning travelers can take out their laptop or tablet as needed, either at the airport gate or on the plane.
Exclusive to Delsey, the medium and large uprights feature the Over Weight Indicator integrated on the top handle. Travelers simply lift their bag with this handle and a red mark signals when bags are over the standard airline 50 pound weight allowance limit. This means travelers can make important packing decisions from wherever they may be, and not at the check-in counter at the airport. Delsey Helium Breeze 4.0 offers a spacious, fully lined interior with zippered mesh pockets, tie down straps and a suiter for jackets, dresses or more formal attire. This four wheel series is easy to maneuver through airports and hotels. Available in sleek black or classic brown, the timeless collection compliments any ensemble.
Accessibly priced, uprights are available at sale prices of $149.99 up to $199.99.

My Packing Tips for Traveling Alone
Tip #1 – So, like I said, I don’t really pack lightly. I pack smart-ly! By using the lightweight 29″ Delsey Helium Breeze 4.0 suitcase I’m able to pack more than enough clothes and accessories to get me through a trip. Basically, what I do is pack the necessities and add on from there. Since the airlines have a 50 pound maximum for checked baggage, I know I can pack my bag until it weighs 50 pounds. I can monitor the weight of the bag by using the built-in over weight indicator at the top of the bag. Both of my Delsey’s have this and it’s a LIFESAVER (especially when coming home). Also, as you are packing, try to stay as organized as possible. Make sure you utilize all of the pockets in your suitcase to make it easy on yourself when you arrive to your destination.
Tip #2 – As mentioned above, the overweight indicator on the Delsey luggage is a lifesaver and a must-have. It’s a good idea to leave some extra weight room in your suitcase if you plan on bringing home souvenirs. You most likely won’t have a scale with you when traveling which is where the overweight indicator comes in handy. You can pack your bags with souvenirs to your heart’s content until it reaches 50 pounds. Please don’t be that person at the airport that has to throw things away because they are over the weight limit.
Tip #3 – Make sure your luggage has four wheels! It’s not always easy to pull your luggage behind you so I suggest investing in luggage that rolls on four wheels. This way you can push or pull the luggage around. It’s so much easier when waiting in lines at the airport or even in cruise terminals.
Tip #4 – Keep your important papers in a place that is easy to access! I usually bring a backpack on board planes which is where I keep snacks and activities for my daughter as well as important paperwork. Some people don’t like to carry on more than a purse, briefcase and/or carry-on bag so you may want to check out the Delsey Helium Breeze collection. They have an easy-access pocket on the side of each bag to stash away important papers, sunglasses, snacks, etc.
All of these tips are helpful for traveling alone or with a child. If you have a tip to add, leave a comment below for all to see!
