Wow! I can’t believe the holidays are approaching already. Didn’t I just finish putting away last years’ decorations? Besides my husbands beautiful light display outside, over the years I have minimized my interior decorating to the tree, banister, front door and a wreath over the fireplace. This is mostly because I hate, hate, hate putting everything away after the holidays are over. I used to decorate every little table and countertop in the house with little knick-knacks. Since I’ve gotten older I prefer a more organized clean look (and one that doesn’t take days to put away).
I received a beautiful Cranberry Winter Wreath from Oriental Trading (item number IN-13604919). I’m going to use this over my fireplace, not only for the holidays, but for the whole winter since it doesn’t have any Christmas design to it. I think for Christmas I’m going to wrap it in some wide ribbon and give it a big bow, then leave it plain for the rest of the winter. It really adds a nice touch of color to my family room, without being gaudy. It is made of “faux” berries, so you don’t need to worry about them falling off as they dry. At a price of $24.99, this is about half the price of similar winter wreaths I have seen at some of my local craft stores. The value is great when you think about the good quality and being able to use it for years to come.

This winter wreath would make an awesome display for a winter wedding reception. I could just imagine them hung on the aisles in a church or chapel. Or, they could be laid flat as a centerpiece on guest tables and the centers filled with beautiful winter flowers and glowing candles. Hmmm, think I will use this as my centerpiece for Christmas dinner! There are so many possibilities for decorating this and making it your own!
