Christmas parties are all about gathering with the ones we love to enjoy good food and good company. When searching for Christmas party ideas, you will typically stumble upon black and red themed decor or the classic red and green blah blah blah. With the launch of The Great Gatsby this year, I’m inspired to throw a roaring 20’s themed Christmas or New Years party with plenty of glitz and glamour.
First things first – shout it to the world with these glitzy holiday party invitations from Tiny Prints.
Libations
Pop Open the Champagne – What would a 1920’s holiday party be without champagne? Get the Champagne Tower Tutorial courtesy of my favorite DIYer, Martha Stewart.
Liquor – The Great Gatsby was set during the Prohibition, but that didn’t prevent liquor from flowing freely at Jay Gatsby’s social events. Provide your guests with classic liquors and maybe a signature drink like the Mint Julep.
Dining
Hire a Caterer – There’s nothing worse than having to work your own party. The whole point of the party is to socialize with friends and family so spare yourself the hassle and hire a caterer. If your budget doesn’t have room for a caterer, try hiring your friend’s teenagers to work the party for half the price. Just have the food mostly prepared before guests arrive and have them dress nice to serve the food.
Setting the Table – Wow your guests with rented tableware. Black and gold scream elegant and expensive.
Dessert – Nothing says glam like a fancy dessert table. Find great DIY tutorials on Pinterest or visit your local gourmet bakery.

I just opened up my own business earlier this year. We are off to a great start, in every way. Even though it is almost only June, I am looking into throwing a fun Christmas party for my employees. How do I set up holiday catering and hiring a Santa?
