My daughter recently discovered Caillou on the PBS iPad app and the Sprout network. She had been watching Caillou episode after Caillou episode whenever she got the chance and I watched her whole demeanor change.
Caillou is a bad boy. He’s a little four year old spoiled brat that whines when he doesn’t get his way. I quickly saw my daughter reflecting this behavior. She started to whine when she didn’t get her way, she started being defiant and she started lying. I believe this is because of Caillou.
So, guess what? No more Caillou in our house! Our daughter now says, “Caillou bad boy!” and she stays away from his shows. I’ve already noticed a change in her attitude, thankfully.

Ha, if you think that's bad, you';; never allow you kid to watch TV channels like Disney and Nick as a pre-teen. Sorry- but Caillou is nowhere near as bad as Proud Family, Hannah Montana – any of the teen shows on Nick.. almost all of Cartoon Network's lineup. I'm not trying to be harsh, but PBS is as mild as it gets.
