Read what experts are saying about Salba Chia Seeds for weight loss.

Diets are a bore. Most are sabotaged by hunger pangs, while others lack good nutrition. There’s no quick fix for weight loss, but dietitians are now widely recommending chia as a versatile ingredient that can boost nutritional value while increasing satiety. Experts like Dr. Oz recommend chia seeds as a healthy way to manage appetite. Men’s Fitness says of chia: “Packed with omega-3 fatty acids, soluble fiber, and even a little bit of protein, these tiny seeds can elevate just about any meal or snack to a nutritional powerhouse.” And ‘Biggest Loser’ star, Rachel Beller, MS, RD, goes further, noting that Salba Chia is, “My absolute, ultimate, favorite fiber, antioxidant and omega-3 booster!” Here’s why Salba chia is a dieter’s new ally:
- Boosts Nutrition: Salba chia is the richest whole food source of Omega-3 fatty acids (ALA) and fiber found in nature on a gram for gram basis. Every 15g serving of Salba provides over 3,400 mg of Omega-3s (ALA) – 800% more Omega-3 (ALA) than salmon (EPA/DHA). Salba has less than 1 g net carbohydrate per serving.
- Curbs Appetite: Each serving contains 5.1g of dietary fiber to support healthy digestion and increase satiety, which can help to ward of cravings and sugar crashes. Salba chia seeds absorb many times their weight in water, which helps to slow digestion and leave you feeling fuller for longer.
You’ve got to check out Rachel Beller’s amazing book, Eat to Lose, Eat to Win. I’m finding so many healthy tips and recipes in it.

I have always been told to drink a glass of water when I feel hungry to see if I am just thirsty and if not I wont want to eat as much. I am in different groups that helps a lot to stick to my diet beacuse we check in with pictures everyday and weight in once a week.

Actually my easiest "diet" was a 10-day juice fast. It was so easy!!! I really miss it actually. Although admittedly it was really hard to turn down pizza. I'm trying to eat less sugar now. It's going alright. kristiedonelson(at)gmail(dot)com Thank you!

I actually don't believe in "diets." I think that the best health plan that anyone can follow is a healthy lifestyle. Fitness and health are a way of life, not a temporary plan/diet. Schedule regular exercise into your day and eat whole/unprocessed foods. Our bodies are made to digest and utilize all the nutrients that are found in whole foods, not in processed/frozen foods and special pills, even if they claim "light, fat free, weight loss, etc."
Chia seeds are my favorite! Thanks for the giveaway!

I curb appetite by drinking more water, and diluting any juice I drink with at least 50% water.
And I don't eat anything for the 2 hours before bedtime.
The easiest diet I've had was the Atkins.

For me, water with lemon first thing in the morning was great advice. I also started eating better breakfasts. No more crap cereal and bagels full of starchy carbs and sugar!! Plain oatmeal with fruit, yogurt, a fruit smoothie, or eggs on a wheat tortilla with some salsa and a sprinkle of cheese have been great for keeping me full longer. I also have started cooking my lunches a week in advance and optioning them out into individual containers. It makes it so easy to just eat on cold or warm one up for lunch and I don't grab for the quickest high calorie foods in my home.

What works for me is actually eating more, not less! Several small meals during the day means it doesn't take that much to quell the hunger pangs when dinner rolls around. Plus spreading the calories out instead of packing them together helps the body utilize them more.

Drink plenty of water. Have a small handful of almonds and dried cranberries to fend off junk snacking–I think it has to do with nuts being high in protein and the cranberries being a bit sweet.

I love chia seeds!!! I like to make a chocolate pudding with them and eat it for breakfast 🙂 I'm also trying to drink lots of water; I like to add lemon or lime to add extra flavor and cleansing benefit.

I just eat a ton of vegetables, usually lots of kale, cabbage, onions. It really curbs your appetite that roughage! Intense bursts of exercise (bodyweight, like jumping jacks, etc) even a minute helps me not overeat. Chia would help keep the hungrys away too!

I like to make sure I have lots of healthy things to snack on so I don't cheat….popcorn, hummus with raw veggies, grapes. Plus I drink a lot of green tea and peppermint tea which seems to help curb my appetite.

The best advice I got was to to drink lots of water. I lost 80 lbs with weight watchers in the late 90's and have kept 70 of it off. I find that anything that I can munch on helps. IE carrots and celery take a while to chew and have few calories.
