I’m totally a ‘doodler.’ When I’m sitting at my desk waiting for photos to load, I tend to draw little flowers and stars on every piece of scrap paper I can find. For some reason, I only draw flowers and stars, nothing else. So weird, I know.
I’ve always had a love for art and being creative and I’ve been trying my hardest to pass that on to my daughter. I took tons of art classes in school but for some reason, none of the art classes began with ‘how to draw.’ We always jumped right into how to paint or make ceramics. So needless to say, I was definitely ready for some new doodle subjects.
I found these awesome cheap, printable How to Draw Books for Kids and Adults that I just had to share. The books were created by Amit Offir, an author and illustrator whose books are Amazon best sellers.
On howto-draw.com you can choose the book of your choice for only $2.99. You get a PDF version of the book that you can save to your computer and you can print as many copies as you’d like. The books are designed for adults and children ages five and up.
What I love about these How To Draw Books is that they teach children to be patient and creative, they help develop motor skills and create that feeling of achievement when a drawing is completed.
With all of the technology and hustle and bustle around us, it’s nice to unwind and draw and color from time-to-time with our children.
Ready to see my first attempts at some of the characters from my How To Draw Gardens book? Okay, don’t laugh!
My cat turned out a little crooked. |
To give you an idea of how these books teach you to draw, here is a snapshot of one of the pages from my garden book. I was pleasantly surprised how easy this book was to follow. It really breaks it down from the beginning of each character so you don’t miss a step.
This is great way to get kids creative during the summertime.
