From the illustrations to the awesome message that this story teaches, Funky Yellow Bus is bound to be a hit. It teaches children that although change may not always be easy or wanted, there’s always a way to make the most out of it and see the good in every situation. For example, riding a school bus for the first time can be scary for children. This story shows how the main character, Brookie Cookie transformed a scary situation into something fun for all.
Funky Yellow Bus also teaches an important lesson to those who aren’t necessarily the ones that are scared. It teaches that it’s important to help others who may be scared or nervous in situations and make them feel more comfortable. It’s important to include everyone in the fun, even if it’s in a school bus band!
The bright colors and fun pictures help to keep my daughter interested and the fun rhymes end up coming out as a song by the end of the book. This book is actually geared towards the three to five year old range, but my two year old loves it, too!
