With the heat hitting California, we are beginning to struggle with having a hot car interior. If you constantly battle with your toddler to get into the car seat, add the heat and it’s recipe for disaster. We actually purchased an adorable pink and brown brocade infant car seat cover from them before she was born back in 2011 along with the matching shoes. The only downside to having a car seat cover on the infant car seat is the added weight. Since the infant car seat is one that you take out of the car and move around with you, I recommend using the existing car seat canopy and finding an infant car seat cover from BabyBellaMaya.com rather than using their car seat canopy. This way you still get the cuteness of the cover without the added weight of the canopy.
Now that my daughter is in a toddler car seat that we don’t have to lug around, a car seat cover is much more convenient. Car seat covers protect against crumbs and drink spills and even vomit. If your child dirties it up, simply remove it and toss it in the washing machine. Easy peasy.
This time around we went with a black and pink pattern from Baby Bella Maya and I’m super happy with it. Since it’s black, I was concerned about it holding heat but we don’t seem to have a problem. The cover also keeps the buckles nice and cool and protected from direct sun exposure which is a huge plus. Another plus is that the car seat cover comes with matching shoulder strap protectors which I say is a must.
If you have a toddler car seat with built-in cup holders, these car seat covers may not work for you. However, if you’re handy with a sewing machine or can hand sew, I recommend cutting holes for the cup holders and modifying the car seat cover to fit.
Overall, I’ve been extremely with my Mid Summer Dream Toddler Car Seat Cover from Baby Bella Maya and can’t get over all of the cute prints they are offering right now.
